the old Woman's daughter

<<<<Chapter iv>>>>

“D o not be afraid little child, I shall never hurt you,” the man promised her. “You are a good and kind girl that is why I was sent by God to help you,” said the man. “take,” he brought out something from his goat skin bag and gave it to her. She took it from him and examined it. It was an unbroken gourd.
“What is this, old one?”
“You are still a child and may not understand what this gourd is,” said the man. “Take it home to Nwamyi Agadi, she will tell you more about it. Meanwhile, don’t let anyone see the gourd with you on your way home,” the stranger man told her.
There was a number ‘2' written on the top of the gourd. Ngozi quickly cut off some coco yam leaves around and wrapped the gourd properly.
“Now hurry,” said the man, “hurry home my child and never allow anyone on your way to see what you’re carrying.” He led her out of the thick forest and directed her on the path to follow.
The girl did as the old man instructed her even though she had mixed feelings about him. She took to her heels and made sure nobody saw what she carried until she reached home.
