~~~~Chapter Five(5)~~~~
Annabeth opened the door to her bedroom and she saw Justin in bed. She smiled as she walked over to the foot of the bed. Her smile faded when she looked at the wall clock, past six.
It was really surprising to meet him at home by this time.
She went over to look at him.
She tapped him and he opened his eyes.
"Hey, baby!"
She gasped as she moved backwards.
Justin had deep blue eyes, this one had deep green!
"Get your butt off my bed, Julian Canarro."
She half yelled and Julian's eyes widened in shock.
He feigned hurt. "How did you know?"
"You are really asking me that? I thought you were Justin but I know my husband better." She smiled. "Its a pleasure to finally meet you but I didn't expect to meet you this way."
Julian stood from the bed and he smiled. "You are really amazing. He finally nailed it with you. So cute and smart!" He drew her into his arms suddenly and she remained calm.
"Thanks for taming his wild heart."
Did she really tame his heart?
"He went wild after what Scarlet did to him."
"That's not something to remember, leaving a man on his wedding day."
She pulled away from him and Julian arched a brow.
"You know about it?
"Of course, why won't I know? He told me." She said happily and he frowned.
"Sister-in-law, I'm famished!" He pouted and Anne giggled.
"Okay but first of all do me a favour."
"What's that?"
"Get out of this room. I feel like I'm talking to Justin."
He laughed, like Justin, she noticed.
"I'm really sorry for trying to fool you."
"You did get me but your eyes gave you away. And, why do you have to style your brown straight hair the way he does?"
"We are twins......we can't be any different. Actually, we have the same colour of eyes. I'm putting on contact lenses."
She gasped.
"This isn't my room..I'm sorry once again for barging in................don't forget dinner.........."
"Don't worry, Julian, the maids are at it."
He turned to walk away then stopped to look back at her. "You are indeed beautiful."
With that, he strolled out of their room.
He wanted to fool her!
She could barely control her laughter as she ended up on the floor laughing out her ribs.
She wished she really tamed his heart.
But she knew better.
He couldn't open his heart for love again.
She peeled off her clothes and she went into the bathroom for a hot bath.
She went downstairs around fiteen minutes past seven. She went into the kitchen to oversee dinner and she came out. She went over to the sitting room, she sat down and she flicked the television on. Celebrity News and gists filled most channels, since she was not really a fan of music artistes but a particular one caught her eyes. Julian Canarro and Tina Monroe caught having a heated conversation. She chuckled as she looked up to the stairs.
No wonder he hurried back to LA!
He needs a place to stay and also hide his face.
"Dinner is served, ma'am." Grace announced and Anne smiled.
"Okay."
She walked away. She called on May to get Julian from his room and he came downstairs almost immediately, dressed that way, a white body hugging shirt and black shorts, he looked like Justin. They went to the table and they got seated.
They began to eat and Anne gasped when she looked into his eyes.
"Are you really Julian?" She asked between mouthful of pasta.
He laughed richly as he dropped his cutlery "Like I told you, you were able to get me 'cos I was putting on contact lenses. We have the same colour of eyes, Anne, everything about us is the same. Our DNA is also 99.9% accurate ."
She looked at him in total awe.
Could twins look any different?
They started to laugh and chat over dinner with her gaze moving to the wall clock consistently.
After dinner, the table was cleared off.
She had this thought when she was much younger, when she gets married, she would wait 'till her husband comes back from work before she eats but seeing Justin, who gets home late in the night, she would he famished to death.
When he comes back, he can eat his dinner alone, in total silence, at least. That's what he wants.
She went back to the sitting room with Julian in tow.
She sat on the couch and her eyes met the scrabble board beside the fire place.
"How good are you in making words?" She asked suddenly as a wicked grin appeared on her face.
"Huh?"
*****
"Damn Anne!" Julian cussed as he tossed the last of the letters away. "I admit defeat."
Anne chuckled as she looked around, her eyes met with the time, past eleven.
He was not home yet.
Julian yawned as he stood up. "When my fool of a brother gets back, tell him I've gone to bed."
"Idiot!" She heard from the doorway and her head snapped to his direction. She looked from Justin to Julian and then back, they were identical twins in the real sense of the word.
She looked at him closely and she gasped.
He looked really dirty and rough.
Rough?
Extremely rough!
"Justin, did you do something bad behind my back?" She blurted and this earned her a death glare from him.
He looked at his brother. "What's up with you?" He asked dryly as he dropped his coat on the couch.
"Is that how to greet your brother whom you haven't seen in months?"
"Oh yeah? You want a hug from me like this?" He asked as he came closer.
"Eeeew!" He said as he ran to the back of the sofa. "When you are all washed up, we can talk, so dirty! Anne dear, good night."
"Night,Jules." She said in a sing-songy voice before he ran up the stairs.
"I didn't know you were having a good time with my brother." He picked up his coat and he stormed his way up the stairs.
Anne went to meet him after a while.
"Are you mad at me? Did I do something wrong?"
"I am really mad at you!" He yelled and she flinched. He had left the appointment he had to protect her against his brother wiles, he had ended up in traffic and his car had developed a fault in the murky and dusty road up the hill. He had to walk all the way here because he had left his credit card in the office.
Right now, his legs were aching badly.
The most annoying part of it.......he held himself from yelling at her again, she couldn't call.
She didn't call to know of his whereabouts.
She was not even concerned about his safety.
Was she even worried about him?
"What have I done?" She asked after she had regained her composure.
"What you've done? You even had the guts to ask me if I did something bad behind your back."
Pink spots appeared on her cheeks as she looked down. "I'm sorry." She murmured.
Justin looked at her closely.
"Why didn't you call me, Anne? I was expecting your call."
Her head snapped up "What?"
"I stayed out late but you didn't even call, it was painful, Annabeth."
"But, this is not the first time you stay out late, Jus. I'm used to it."
"What?!"
It was his turn to ask.
"Are you serious?"
"Of course, I am." She smirked.
"Okay, fine. As your husband, I decree and command that you call me every blessed day."
"I won't do that. You are not my husband."
She saw plain hurt in his eyes.
"We are married,Anne."
"We are not! We are married in paper only, you did as much to remind me of that. The six months......"
"If we are not really married, why did we do what we did last night?"
She blushed again as she looked down.
"I.......I....."
Justin smiled as he placed a finger under her chin to raise her head up. "What if I'm sincerely asking? I want you to call me, Anne. Remember what you said last night, it won't be possible. I would call you a dozen times in a day if I have the chance. ."
Anne laughed. "Do you know what you are saying?"
He smiled. "That I'm in love with you? Nah. I'm just attracted to you and can't seem to get enough of you."
Her laughter faded as she looked into his eyes.
Yeah!
This is Justin!
A man who is not capable of loving again.
Scarlet was really lucky to have gotten his heart.
As far as, he is always sweet with her, she was okay with it.
He brought down his head to kiss her and she moved back immediately.
"You are dirty and you smell of.........oil!"
"Thank goodness you mentioned it." He said as he shed his shirt. Anne couldn't help but drool. "For your information, Anne Canarro, I didn't do anything bad behind your back, woman with a wild mind."
She laughed as she covered her face. "Say all you want, Justin Canarro. I don't care!"
"Oh really? There is a rat coming towards your leg."
"Uh? Where? Where?" She shrieked as she started jumping around until she jumped into Justin's waiting arms.
"Exactly where I wanted you!"
She struggled to get down but he placed a strong grip around her waits.
"We both smell of oil!" He grinned and Anne glared at him. "We need a shower, don't you think?"
"Like, I don't know your real plans." She rolled her eyes. "Just put me down, I will go myself."
"You can't fool me, Fur."
With Anne in his arms, he strolled into the bathroom.
After their 'bath' in the bathroom, they laid in bed in each other's arms.
"Now you smell humane."
He laughed.
"What about dinner?"
"I'm not hungry!"
She remained silent.
"Can I ask you for a favour?" She asked after a while.
"Sure!"
She sat up and she looked at him. "Can you stop keeping late nights? Even though we are not really married, respect the friendship between us."
"Why do you keep insisting that we are not really married?" He muttered.
"Huh?"
"Its nothing. I don't think I can." He teased her.
"I thought as much." She pursed her lips. "Good night, Justin!"
She turned around and she lay back on the bed.
Justin moved closer to her and he whispered in her ear. "I was joking, ma'am. I will try my best.
He pulled away and he faced the other side.
She turned slowly and she looked at him. She moved closer to him and she placed her head on his back.
"I will see your efforts, Justin. Thanks for this." She kissed his nape and Justin turned suddenly, so that their noses met.
"There is a party on Saturday night. I want you to come...........as my wife."
She yawned. "I'm feeling sleepy, Oliver. I can't hear you."
"Huh?"
She opened her eyes widely.
"Did I really say that?"
"Yes, you did."
"I'm sorry."
"Who is he?" He asked with a tint of jealousy in his voice.
"No one relevant!" She stated sleepily.
"Are you sure, Annabeth?"
"I am.......you were saying something about a party."
"Oh yes. There is a welcome party for the CEO on Saturday at the company. I want you to come, Anne."
He looked at her closely, her eyes were already closed.
"Way to go, Anne!" He murmured as he kissed her forehead. "Good night, Anne."
He pulled her closer to himself.
"I will never forgive you, Oliver." She said sleepily and jealousy got the better part of him.
He moved away from her.
Who is this Oliver?
He slept on his side of the bed with his back to her.
**********
She opened her eyes gently.
She frowned when she saw the large distance between them. She looked up to his face and she gasped.
He was glaring hard at her and he had dark circles under his eyes.
Did he sleep at all?
"Who is Oliver?" He asked suddenly.
"No one relevant. I remember telling you that last night and besides, that isn't the good morning I was expecting from you." She tried to sit up but Justin dragged her back to the bed.
"I'm not done talking to you!" He said between gritted teeth.
"If he is not relevant, you wouldn't have mentioned his name numerous times."
"Oliver does not exist!" She said
Justin raised a brow at her. "You sure?"
"Ask me again!"
He heaved a sigh of relief!
He was scared!
She noticed the look on his face and she sat upright.
A mischievous  smile found its way to her lips. "You were jealous!"
"Of course not!" He lied.
He was extremely jealous!
